We offer a large variety of leagues that accommodate a wide range of curlers. So, whether you’re a recreational player or someone competitive; if you’re 6, 106 or somewhere in-between, the Sutton Curling Club is sure to have a league suitable for you.
Morning Curling
If playing in the evening isn’t for you then plan to come out and join in on some curling either Monday, Wednesday or Thursday mornings starting at 9:30 am.
Teams are made up based on the number of curlers that come out to play each day. All skill levels are welcome with an emphasis on enjoyment.

Monday Evening - Men's League
The Monday and Thursday night Men’s teams are picked by the designated skips in predetermined order on the first night of play. The teams are set for the first half of the season, October to January, and then redrawn for the second half of the season. These leagues are popular so get your member registration in on time to avoid disappointment. Draw time is 7:30pm.
Tuesday Evening - Team Entry
This Tuesday night league is for the more competitive spirited but still a lot of fun. Sign up for this league is done as a team. The teams can be all men, all ladies or mixed. Instead of a first and second half winning team, everyone is entered into a season ending playoff round with a bit of money up for grabs. Each player throws in $10 to make up the cash prizes but it’s really more about the bragging rights than the money.
Wednesday Evening - Ladies League
An evening out just for the ladies, and all skill levels are welcome.
Teams are created for the Fall draw in October and again for the Winter draw in January. Each skip is then randomly selected for a team. The goal is to make each team as equal in skill as possible to create a fair and fun experience for all.
The winner of each draw is determined by their win/loss record for that draw. One Fun Night is scheduled into each draw and consists of mixing up the teams, playing a 6 end game with light snacks afterwards.
The league is all about improving your skill level, having fun and a little light competition. Draw time is 7:30pm.
Thursday Evening - Men's League

Friday Night - Mixed
The Friday Night Mixed league is very popular with new curlers and for those who enjoy a night of fun and socializing. You can sign up as an individual or a couple. The games are 6 ends with 2 draws Friday nights at 6:45pm and 9:00pm,The teams are picked by the drawmaster for the first and second half so there is an opportunity to play with different people in each half of the season.
You can count on there being a Share the Wealth draw every week and sometimes there’s a draw for a broom autographed by professional curlers. There are fun nights where everyone is encouraged to dress up for Halloween, Christmas, St. Paddy’s Day and so on with prizes for the best costumes.
If you’re looking for an enjoyable night out with some curling thrown in this is the league for you.
Sunday Morning - Doubles
This format of 2 on 2 play has become hugely popular not only to play but to watch as a spectator too. The games are fast paced with lots of big shots in a small scoring area. The major difference between regular curling and doubles curling is the positioning of two stones – one per team – that are set before the beginning of each end. These “positioned” stones that are placed before the beginning of each end are also eligible to be counted in the scoring.
The skill level required for this type of play is a few years of curling experience. Teams can be all ladies, all men or mixed. You can register individually or as a twosome. Sunday draw time(s) are 10:00am & 12:30pm

Sunday Afternoon - Youth Curling
Little Rocks – ages 7 to 12
Bantams/Juniors – ages 13 to 20
The Youth curling program runs from 12:30 to 2:00 pm on Sunday afternoons.
The afternoon begins with an off-ice warm-up followed by on-ice sliding, throwing and brushing warm-ups. Each week includes practice, games, strategy and skill development. Competitions and special events such as family bonspiels and potluck parties are based on interest and family/parent involvement.
To get started curlers need a pair of clean, grippy indoor shoes to wear on the ice. Wear warm, loose fitting clothing (avoid wearing jeans) and gloves. Please note the Sutton Curling Club strongly recommends CSA approved protective head gear be worn by all participants.

Learn to Curl
Learn to curl sessions are for those who have not curled in the past. It is a requirement for new registrants for their safety and enjoyment of the game. For 2022-23 1st Draw there are three sessions at a cost of $60.00
Session #1 Saturday October 8th 9:00AM to 12:00PM
Session #2 Saturday October 15th 9:00AM to 12:00PM
Session #3 Saturday October 22nd 9:00AM to 12:00PM
